We are a racing and sporting cycling club based to the west of London. Our clubhouse is Staines Sailing Club, 105 Chertsey Lane, Staines-upon-Thames TW18 3LQ, where we meet every Tuesday night at 8:45 for refreshments and a chat.
We have a full programme of Sunday club runs that leave Staines Bridge at 9.15am, these rides vary in pace from a training Ride covering 60-70 miles without a break at a fast pace to social rides of about 30-50 miles with a cafe stop at a slower pace. For off-road enthusiasts there is a Saturday morning off road ride during the autumn and winter months.
On Tuesday evenings in summer there is a fast training ride starting from Bishop’s Gate, Windsor Great Park at 6.30pm and a slower ride starting from the Clubhouse at the same time. A second ride from the Clubhouse often leaves at 7pm. These rides start and finish with BST and times may vary at the beginning and end of BST. In winter there are Tuesday evening turbo training sessions starting at 7pm during the winter months.
We have a full programme of social activities including the Club Dinner and also organise tours throughout the year to Mallorca in the spring, continental one day races, the Ghent 6, the Tour de France and the Pyrenees for example. Four timers a year we publish the club magazine Quarter Wheeler.
We operate a full programme of time trials and Audax rides open to members and non-members. These include Thursday evening 10s and other club events in the summer where you can enter on the line and have a go! Open events need to be entered in advance through Cycling Time Trials (CTT) or British Cycling (BC)
We pride ourselves on making new faces very welcome which, we believe, is why we are a successful and growing club. Our membership is made up of all ages of men and women, if you’d like to take a closer look you are welcome to just turn up to the clubhouse on a Tuesday evening at 9.00pm or on Sunday at Staines Bridge at 9.15 for a clubrun.
