Time Trialling Report
Tuesday 5th April

Two Hounslow and District Wheelers riders showed promising form last weekend (2nd & 3rd April).

In the Farnham Road Club 10 on Saturday Nic Stagg surprised himself, not to mention the rest of the field, by recording the excellent time of 20 minutes 51 seconds, the fastest time of the day and 47 seconds clear of the next best solo rider, Ben Elliot (Kingston Wheelers) with 21.38.

It is rare for a rider’s best performance to come at the start of the season, so the Hounslow is optimistic that it will see some sparkling results from Nic this year.

Stuart Stow, also of the Hounslow, recorded a very respectable 23.42 to take seventh place.

There were 29 entrants in this club event which took place on the Farnham-Alton course.

In the London & Home Counties VTTA 10 Rob Gilmour finished in second position both on actual time and on Veterans’ standard (won by the ever present John Woodburn).

He recorded 23.04 which was just 22 seconds down on the winner, Peter Dixon (Willesden CC), who finished in 22.42. Third place went to Geoff Powell (High Wycombe) with 23.16.

The event was held on the Amersham Road and attracted 41 entrants.
