Planet X - Wychwood Classic Time Trial (10th April 2011)

Paul Holdsworth (Hounslow and District Wheelers) demonstrated his potential for another successful season when he can third overall in this tough event last Sunday (10th April).

His time of 1 hour 30 minutes 59 seconds was close to the existing course record of 1.30.34, but this year Steve Golla (Sigma Sport) did 1.28.58 for second spot, while Hywel Davies riding for the event sponsors, Planet X, was the winner with 1.28.14, which also took the special prize offered for a new record under 1 hour 30 minutes.

Paul did have the consolation of taking the prize for the fastest veteran in addition to his third place.

This 36 mile event is run over a two lap course in the Cotswold Hills based on Charlbury, and includes over 2,000 feet of climbing. Holdsworth was the only Hounslow representative last Sunday, but it is hoped that it will be possible to find two more riders to challenge for the valuable team prize next year.

Charlotteville 10 (9th April)

Rob Gilmour (Hounslow) again showed his speed by finishing in 22 minutes 8 seconds, which gave him third place on veterans’ standard and 14th place overall (from a field of 90 entrants). The event was won by Nick Baldo (PB Science.com) in 20.24, with Wouter Sybrandy (Sigma Sport) second in 20. 29.
